WELCOME TO AUCA
The Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA) was founded in 1978. The official opening took place on 15 October 1984 and the university had its definitive operating license via the law n0 0056/05 of 3rd February 1988, granting AUCA the legal personality as a nonprofit making association. At its inception, the University was located at Mudende, former Mutura Commune, Gisenyi Prefecture. Until 1994, just before the genocide against the Tutsi, the AUCA had 7 faculties:
Faculty of Business Administration: Departments of Accounting and Information Management;
Faculty of Sciences: Departments of Maths -Physics, Biology and Chemistry, Human Biology and Public Health;
Faculty of Education: Department of Educational Psychology;
Faculty of Technology: A1 Programme;
Faculty of Languages: Department of French and English;
Faculty of Agriculture;
Faculty of Theology;
Following the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, AUCA temporarily suspended its activities. From 7 May 1996, University relocated to Kigali City, and reopened a transition Campus at Gishushu, Rukiri III, Remera Sector, Kacyiru District. From that time, the University operated with only four faculties: Business Administration, Information Technology, Education, and Theology.
In 2019, the Faculty of Health Sciences was introduced, operating on its Nursing campus in Karongi District. Until today, AUCA has enjoy a good reputation locally and regionally for its track record in quality teaching. Currently the university operates on three beautiful campuses of Masoro, Gishushu (Kigali City) and Ngoma (Karongi District in the Western Province).

Adventist University Of Central And East Africa (AUCA) Admission Requirements
Undergraduate Admission Requirements
1) Dully filled in application Form
2) Secondary school transcripts/reports for senior 4, 5 and senior 6 ;
3) A notorized copy of the Advanced General Certificate of Secondary Education with a minimum of 2 principal passes – miniumum E Grade. (For Nursing applicants, at least a C Grade in Biology and Chemistry, and at least a D Grade in Mathematics or Physics will be required, with combinations in Mathematics Chemistry Biology – MCB or Physics Chemistry Biology – PCB );
4) Two Passport size photos in color;
5) A photocopy of the National ID Card or valid Passport;
6) A proof/copy of health insurance certificate
7) A non-refundable application fee (Frws 30,000 for Rwandan applicants and 50 USD for international applicants) paid in any of the following bank accounts:

NOTE:
(1) Applicants with foreign academic qualifications shall obtain an equivalence of their certificates from Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB).
(2) An entry Visa is granted upon arrival at the Kigali International Airport for all citizens from around the
world.
(3) An international student will need apply for a study visa within two weeks (15 days) upon arrival. To do this, he/she will produce the following documents to the Rwanda’s Immigration Services: a Police Clearance from the home country; a valid passport, a CV and an application letter.
(4) As part of student admission, all students are encouraged to have laptops to be admitted to AUCA undergraduate and graduate programmes, to make the blended learning process smooth for everyone.
Masters Admission Requirements
The following are requirements for admission into Masters programme:
1. A well filled in application form
2. Official receipt of application fee payment (Frws 30,000 for Rwandan applicants and 50 USD for international applicants)
3. Notorized copies of college or university diplomas or degree certificates
4. Two recent passport-size photos
5. Three letters of recommendation from referees in sealed envelopes
6. Two notorized copies of the official transcript from each college/ university attended
7. Notorized copy of secondary school certificate
8. Updated curriculum vitae (CV)
9. A proof/copy of health insurance certificate
10. Essay (Explaining educational goals, career objectives, work experience, awards, and/or extracurricular activities)
