The Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) was formed with the primary objective of formulating National Standards and promoting quality assurance activities in Botswana.
Thus, BOBS is mandated to facilitate the improvement of the quality of life of Batswana in terms of their safety, human health and environmental protection.
As the Country’s National Standards Body, BOBS is a full member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an affiliate plus member of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), a corresponding member of the International Organization for Legal Metrology (OIML), Botswana is an Associate Member of the General Conference of Weights and Measures (CGPM) and a member of the African Organization for Standardization (ARSO).
Through its membership in these bodies, BOBS has access to a wide range of expertise to ensure that it is operating at par with its counterparts.
