A withdrawal occurs when a student’s enrollment is permanently discontinued or, in some cases, even temporarily interrupted. Withdrawal may be official (when the student informs the dean in writing) or unofficial (without written information). The effective withdrawal date is usually the student’s last date of attendance.
If a student withdraws, Bridgetown International University’s tuition and charges correspond with federal loan entitlement regulations, which are based on the period attended:

Although a leave of absence may be granted in exceptional circumstances, failing to return to the University after a leave of absence is regarded as a withdrawal on the final day of attendance. Please remember that a leave of absence and an academic leave of absence is not the same thing.
Furthermore, federal laws require that a leave of absence is requested and authorized in advance, that it does not exceed 180 days, and that it not be given within 12 months of a prior leave of absence. On the final day of attendance, an interruption of enrollment status that does not qualify as a leave of absence will be deemed a withdrawal.
