California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI or CI) Online Application

As the youngest institution in the CSU system, California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) has a moderately selective admissions policy. The acceptance rate was 83%. With 26 and 37 academic majors and minors respectively, the university offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. 

Students can apply for California State University Channel Islands through the CalSate Application Portal. International students willing to study at the university are required to submit a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a scale of 4.0. In addition to this, applicants are required to submit an essay/SOP and a LOR.

California State University Channel Islands International Admissions

The admission procedure for international and domestic applicants are similar. However, international applicants applying for CSUCI are required to fulfill additional requirements. These include additional documents, Proof of ELP, and completing the visa process.

2. Review Admission Requirements

Upper Division Transfer Student Requirements – Students have completed a minimum of 60 or more semester transferable units or 90 or more quarter units

Lower Division Transfer Student Requirements – Students have completed fewer than 60 semester transferable units or 90 quarter units and have completed A2: Written Communication and B4: Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning.

Spring 2023 – Submit your online Cal State Apply application starting August 1-September 30. (not available for Nursing) 

Fall 2023 applications are accepted from October 1 -to November 30
