This timeline shows the steps you can take to apply to and start your journey at Carleton. You can also take note of important dates and deadlines, as well as upcoming on-campus events.
This timeline is based on the academic year.
September
The Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) application opens.
The direct application for international students opens (via Carleton 360).
October

October 15 is the deadline for international students to apply for the January term (students whose transcripts originate outside of Canada or the US)
November
The early admission period begins.
November 15 is the deadline for students to apply for the January term (students whose transcripts originate from within Canada or the US).
Program-specific specialty tours take place.
January
The admission period begins.
January 13 is the deadline for Ontario secondary school students to submit applications to the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC).
Some programs have early application deadlines and some programs have additional admission requirements.
February
Program-specific specialty tours take place.
March
March 1 is the deadline to apply for a Prestige Scholarship.
March 1 is the application deadline for students applying to:
Bachelor of Architectural Studies
Bachelor of Industrial Design
Bachelor of Information Technology (Interactive Multimedia and Design)
Bachelor of Music
Bachelor of Social Work
Students should also take note of additional admission requirements and their submission deadlines.

April 1 is the main deadline to apply for international students (whose transcripts originate outside Canada or the US)

June
June 1 is the general application deadline for fall admission (for students whose transcripts originate from within Canada or the US). Some programs have early application deadlines and some programs have additional admission requirements.
June 1 is the deadline for Ontario secondary students to respond to an offer of admission made prior to May 13. Responses to offers of admission to limited enrolment programs received after this date could result in the offer being rescinded. Note that you may respond to an offer of admission as soon as you receive it. If you are admitted to first-year studies on or before May 13 , you will be offered a place in residence.
June 8 at 4:30 p.m. (ET) is the deadline to confirm your offer of residence and pay the residence deposit on Carleton Central.
June 30 is the deadline to apply for an Entrance Bursary.
Graduate Admissions
Apply Online Deadlines
The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs normally admits students to the fall (September) term. However, some programs may consider applicants for the winter (January) or summer (May) terms.
Most programs have two application deadlines for each term. The first deadline is for guaranteed consideration of admission and funding, if applicable. The second deadline is for consideration of admission and funding if space and funds remain. Students are encouraged to submit applications prior to the first deadline to increase their chances of securing financial support for their graduate studies.
Applicants are required to submit their online application and all required supplementary forms and documents by the appropriate application deadline which may be as early as 9 months before you wish to begin your studies.
If you wish to have more information on upcoming or passed deadlines, please contact the academic unit of the program to which you are interested in applying. Applications for admission from outside of Canada should be completed at least five to six months before the desired date of admission in order for students to make the necessary visa arrangements.
