CMU-Africa’s stellar internship program offers our students the opportunity to engage with professionals from diverse organizations to obtain practical work experiences and an opportunity to learn about the global business environment. CMU-Africa embraces collaboration with organizations that would like to join us in our commitment to transform the lives of our students through internship programs.

The internship program runs for 10-12 weeks from May to August. All of our students are encouraged to do an internship. However, an internship is mandatory for students enrolled in the Masters of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) as an academic requirement. MSIT students are required to complete a 10-12 week full-time internship prior to completing their degree.

During an internship, students work as short-term employees of an organization to gain technical and professional experience by being immersed in a business environment performing real IT and engineering work for the host organization.

Through internships, students gain work experience through their engagement in a real business environment. This work experience includes performing information technology and engineering projects for the host organization as stipulated in their contracts.

Both first- and second-year students participate in our annual career fair, with first-year students seeking internships and second-year students exploring employment options. The career fair allows students to engage with recruitment officers and attend information sessions and networking events.
