Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (MS ECE)
The 10-16 month MS ECE program is for students who are interested in creating technology solutions not only for today, but for the future. Students are prepared to become engineering leaders through fundamental and hands-on courses in wireless networks, machine learning, data analytics, robotics, energy systems, internet of things, and software engineering.
Students in the MS ECE program are provided with a thorough background in the fundamentals of electrical or computer engineering, as well as the opportunity for in-depth specialization in some particular aspect of this field. There is also an Advanced Study Program of the MS ECE: MS-AD in ECE.
What is electrical and computer engineering?
Electrical and computer engineering integrates many disciplines from electrical engineering and computer science under a common umbrella.
Wherever the electrons or computers are, that is where electrical and computer engineers are.

Requirements for the MS ECE degree
Those pursuing a degree in MS ECE from CMU-Africa must:
Complete 97 units of coursework
Maintain a cumulative quality point average (CQPA) of 3.0
Take no longer than 3 semesters to complete the program

Geographical locations for the MS ECE
CMU-Africa is part of the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University which allows CMU-Africa students to take semesters at CMU’s Silicon Valley location and/or Pittsburgh campus in addition to the one required semester in Kigali, Rwanda.
