Course Descriptions
Courses
Most high school equivalency courses are offered and are considered equivalent to Alberta Learning courses. They are accepted for admission purposes by all post-secondary institutions within Alberta and Canada.
Current MacEwan University students who need to upgrade a prerequisite must contact the office to enroll. Special permission is required from an advisor, and enrolment is based on seat availability.
Descriptions
To find a list of courses, individual course descriptions and the prerequisites for each course, follow the link to the program of study in MacEwan University’s ACADEMIC CALENDAR Not all courses are available each term.
Prerequisites
A prerequisite is a preliminary requirement, normally the completion of another course, usually with a minimum grade of D, which must be met before a course can be taken. For example, the prerequisite for CHEM 30 is CHEM 20.
It is very important that prerequisites are met since institutions have the right to withhold credit for any course taken for which the prerequisites were not first satisfied. Prerequisites are listed at the end of the individual course descriptions.
