Important Information About Online Admissions

If you have applied or attended Athens State before, please do not apply for admissions online.

Please complete a ReAdmission Form and send it to the Admissions & Records Office.
Athens State University is an upper-level institution that serves junior and senior level students.

Before filling out an application, you should have already reviewed our catalog for specific admissions and degree program requirements.

The general admission requirements are:

  1. Credit Hours – sixty-four semester hours of college credit from a regionally accredited institution
  2. Grade Point Average – at least a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

The online admissions process is a four step process:

Complete the seven-part application

Pay the non-refundable application fee (VISA or MasterCard only)

Official/Unofficial transcripts must be received and reviewed to determine if you meet admission requirements. (Refer to Admissions Homepage)

You will be notified of your application status when this is complete.

You may complete the admissions process in one sitting or you may finish any part of it at a later time.

Once you have paid and submitted the application, you cannot make changes to it online. If you wish to make changes to your submitted application, you must contact the Admissions office. They will need the Login ID you created as a “First Time User.”

If you attempt to correct the application by submitting a new application, you will be charged an additional non-refundable application fee.
