DUT Student Mercury Portal

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) has designed an online student self-help iEnabler for students of the university to login with their 9-digit Student Number and 5-digit PIN to gain access to the DUT Student Portal.

The University encourages its students to take advantage of the online registration process and register safely from home or any place with a computer/tablet/mobile phone and Internet access.

Besides, the University will provide you in due course with details as to how you can register in the comfort of your home should your application be successful.

How to Access DUT Student Mercury Portal

  1. Visit the UL Website: https://www.dut.ac.za/
  2. Tap on Students to Access Student related information and portal
  3. Navigate to Student Services
  4. Locate Student Self Service (web reg, results)
  5. Enter your Student Number and PIN
  6. Tap Login

Congratulations!!! You now have access to DUT Student Enabler Portal Dashboard.

How to Login DUT Student Portal

  1. Visit DUT Student Mercury Portal via the URL: Link here
  2. Enter your Login Credential (Student Number and PIN)

NB: As a new user your default password is (9+Month of Birth +Day of Birth) – i.e. 9MMD

DUT Student Portal Online Course Registration

As a new/current student, you can access the self-service student iEnabler system on campus or your computer at home by viewing the links below, which will show you the videos with detailed steps on how to register online.

  1. Login DUT Student Self-Help iEnabler via: https://mercury.dut.ac.za/
  2. In some cases tap on Advanced, then proceed
  3. Enter your Student Number and PIN
  4. Navigate to Registration
  5. Read the descriptions
  6. Tap and read the Rules and Regulations, then click “I accept”

NB: Please note accepting rules and regulations is mandatory thus, failure to do this will result in you getting error messages when you attempt registering your courses. These error messages will appear until you come back to accept the rules and regulations.

  1. Tap on “Submit Registration” to access your names, programme, and courses for which you would be registering to appear.
  2. Select the courses you will be offering for the semester. Note that some courses are compulsory and some are elective courses.
  3. Scroll down to select Save and Continue
  4. Select Continue from the newly opened page.
  5. Preview the summary of the courses you have selected. Then, “Accept Registration”
  6. Select Proof of Registration – PDF and Tap on the document.
  7. Download and File Print out 2 copies and send them to your department for endorsement and keep one copy.

DUT Student Portal Resident Registration

Here are the steps to follow when registering for student resident

  1. Login DUT Student Portal here
  2. Enter your Student Number and PIN
  3. Go to Resident Registration
  4. Accept Rules and Regulations
  5. Submit Registration
  6. Select the Year of Registration
  7. Check your room allocation and programme
  8. Accept Registration
  9. Select Proof of Resident Registration – PDF and Tap on the document.
  10. Download the File Print out 2 copies
  11. Log out

Forgot your Student Number?

Choose any of the following identification types and supply the relevant information to identify you on the system and reset your Student Number.

  1. Login here
  2. Select Voters ID Number, Passport Number, or Email Address
  3. Tap Search
  4. Visit your email for your student number
