Click on your program, click on program details and view the Admissions Requirements tab for full details.

  1. Contact a supervisor (if required).

  1. Apply online.

Verify your Applicant Deadline at https://laurentian.ca/admissions/graduate

  1. Receive a confirmation email from Laurentian.

Within 72 hours of applying, you will receive an important email from Laurentian’s Office of Admissions with information on accessing your myLaurentian Applicant Portal. You should receive this email within two business days of submitting your application to OUAC.

Didn’t receive the email? Check your email spam folder or contact info@laurentian.ca from the email address you used to apply.

  1. Access your Applicant Portal.

You have now applied to Laurentian,  to continue the process, create your account on our Applicant Portal to ensure that you are aware of the supplemental information required for your application.

To activate your Applicant Portal, visit my.laurentian.ca and click the yellow bar “New to Laurentian”.

  1. Submit all required supplemental documents via the Applicant Portal.

Upload all required documents for your application at my.laurentian.ca.

Click on the Reference tab and send your referees the reference form.

  1. Admissions Decision.

The official admissions decision will be provided to you by the Office of Admissions via your Applicant Portal.

Transcripts

Official Transcripts (Canada and the United States of America only)

Applicants to Second-entry (graduate or undergraduate) level university programs, must arrange to have official transcripts sent directly to the Office of Admissions and must be received by the application deadline.

For transcripts to be considered ”official”, they must be sent directly from the Registrar’s Office to our Admissions Office, be imprinted with the school’s seal and/or bear the appropriate signature. We will not use opened transcripts sent by the candidates. We do not accept faxed transcripts.

Official Transcripts (China only)

Submitting Official Documents from Institutions in the People’s Republic of China

Applicants who have obtained degrees from Mainland China should provide both the degree certificate (学位认证)and the graduation certificate (毕业认证) from the CDGDC (学位网).

Applicants who have obtained degrees from universities in Mainland China are required to provide a valid Online Verification Report of the Higher Education Qualification Certificate (教育部学历认证书电子注册备案表) issued by the CHESICC (学信网) in Chinese and English, together with their degree certificate and graduation certificate.

We ask that you contact both CHESICC (学信网) (for the official transcripts) and the CDGDC (学位网) (for the degree certificates) and request that your transcripts and degree certificate(s), if applicable, be sent directly to Laurentian University.

In order to fulfill your conditions of admission, Laurentian University requires that you provide the following electronically:

  1. Final Official Transcripts – English and Chinese from CHESSICC (学信网)
  2. Degree Certificate(s) – English only from CDGDC (学位网)


Please note that if you have attended an institution in a special administrative region (e.g. Hong Kong) you will not be able to request your credentials to be sent via CDGDC or CHESSICC. Please submit a WES course by course evaluation as described here

Undergraduate Admission

Home School Applicants

All home school applications are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. For best consideration, applicants should complete six Grade 12 4U/M courses offered by an Ontario Ministry of Education approved school. They must meet the same admission average as other Grade 12 applicants from Ontario and the 4U/M courses must include prerequisites for the program to which they are applying.

Mature Applicants

The admission status of “mature students” recognizes those adults without the previous academic performance required for admission, that has interests and work experience that suggests anticipated success in university studies. A mature student is someone who:

  • Is 19 years of age or older by the end of the academic year to which they have applied; AND
  • Has not attended a secondary or post-secondary institution for at least one calendar year before the beginning of their university studies; AND
  • Is not eligible for admission on any other basis.

Please note the completion of the minimum requirements above does not guarantee admission to any course, program or department at the university.

For full time studies, apply online to Laurentian University through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre at ouac.on.caUpload the following documents to Laurentian’s Office of Admissions on the Applicant Portal at my.laurentian.ca

  • Letter outlining the reasons for pursuing university studies
  • Resume or CV specifying current education, interests and work experience

Please note that if your application for admission and all supporting documents are not received 14 days before the start of classes for any given semester, your application for admission will be considered for the next semester.
