University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Admission Requirement

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is committed to ensuring that each student has an opportunity to be academically successful, develop personally and professionally, and graduate prepared for a career or professional/ graduate school admission.

All applicants must submit the following: completed online Application for Admission; ACT or SAT Scores (UAPB Federal School Code: 001086); official final high school transcript or GED Certificate; current Immunization Record. Please see below to find out more about the different types of admission.

Full Admission

Completed the high school core curriculum and received the diploma or the equivalent

An ACT score of 19 or above or SAT score equivalent (1330 or above OLD TEST) or 980 (NEW TEST)

A high school GPA of 2.00 or above

Conditional Admission

  • Completed the high school core curriculum and received the diploma or the equivalent
  • An ACT score of 15 – 18 or SAT score equivalent (1060 – 1320) or 810-940 (NEW TEST)
  • A high school GPA of 2.00 or above 

Conditionally admitted students must complete an Individualized Student Success Plan and agree to:

Attend student success workshops and freshman orientation;

Work with a faculty/staff mentor/advisor;

Attend tutoring sessions in developmental math, English, and/or reading; and  

Complete all remedial/developmental courses during the first 30 semester hours.

Additionally, all conditionally admitted students are strongly encouraged to enroll in the summer LIONS Program before the freshman year.

Freshman

Any graduate of an accredited high school may be admitted conditionally or unconditionally to the University. The admissions credentials for an entering freshman must include the following:

  1. Formal application
  2. High school transcript (six or seven semesters for preliminary admission)
  3. Test information and scores (Official ACT/SAT Scores – minimum 15 ACT/810 SAT)
  4. Shot record showing two doses of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccination (MMR) for students born after 1956
  5. Official college transcripts (if you have taken college classes while in high school)  

Before a student can register for classes, the applicant must meet all admission requirements.

General Education Development Test (GED): The University can admit applicants meeting the requirements for the GED certificate on the basis of the certificate and ACT or SAT scores.

Transfer Students

  • Transfer applicants with less than 30 semester hours of college credit must submit ACT or SAT scores and transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
  • Shot record showing two doses of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccination (MMR) for students born after 1956
