Women’s University In Africa(WUA)

Women’s University in Africa (WUA) is a “private university which is supported through student fees and donors from around the globe”, established in 2002 and located in Marondera, Zimbabwe. It has a student enrolment policy of 80% women and 20% men.

The Women’s University in Africa aims to address gender disparity and foster equity until there is equity in accessing tertiary education; and to work on knowledge and skills in areas of vital importance for women.

Background

WUA is a private institution that was co-founded by two visionaries Professor Hope Cynthia Sadza, a former Public Service Commissioner and Dr Fay King Chung the former Minister of Education in Zimbabwe.  It was established in 2002 and granted a Charter by the Government of Zimbabwe in 2004, (Statutory Instrument 130 of 2004). 

It is currently operating from its head office located at 549 Arcturus Road, Manresa Park, Harare.  It has satellite campuses in Bulawayo, Marondera, Kadoma and Mutare in Zimbabwe and an Open Distance Learning programme for students in Malawi and Zambia.

How Do I Register For Women’s University In Africa?

Alternatively application forms may be downloaded from the WUA website: www.wua.ac.zw and submitted with proof of payment of the application fee. The application should then be submitted together with certified copies of a national ID card, birth certificate and educational certificates.

How Much Is The Application Fee For Women’s University?

Application forms can be obtained from the University upon payment of a non-refundable application fee of USD$25 for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and USD$50 for PhD.
