University Of Botswana Undergraduate Applications Intake
Application for undergraduate admission in August
Prospective applicants who wish to study the following programmes at University of Botswana (UB) are advised to apply in order to enrol in August. Applications will be received until 9th August.
Please be informed that the University of Botswana undergraduate study programmes are registered with the Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA).
Prospective applicants are advised to take note of the following General Entry and Specific Programme Requirements:
General Entry Requirements
The general minimum ENTRY requirements to the University shall be the Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) or equivalent with at least six subjects NOT below a grade of E.
For all programmes, English Language shall be one of the qualifying subjects.
English Language must at least be a minimum of grade C for non-science degree programmes and at least a minimum of grade D for science-based programmes.
For Degree programmes, at least five subjects shall be at a minimum of grade C obtained at one or two examination sittings.
The minimum BGCSE entry points shall be 34 for all undergraduate Degrees.

In processing applications for the August 2022 intake, the University will require that the following be observed:
On-line Application
University of Botswana has an on-line application system through which prospective applicants can apply wherever they are, using any Internet facility available. Prospective applicants are therefore to apply online through the “STUDY” link on the University of Botswana website: www.ub.bw. A guide in the form of a booklet, entitled “ONLINE APPLICATION: A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE”, on how to complete an application online is provided.
Submission of Applications
Prospective applicants are to submit their applications mainly online and may use any Internet facility available to them to submit their applications.
Application Fee
Prospective applicants are encouraged to pay their Application Fee on-line through the link https://www.ub.bw/ubpayments or at the Banks and should write their full names and IDs as reference on the deposit slip.
Admission Processing
Applicants who meet the set programme entry requirements will be admitted based on academic merit, depending on the availability of space. Meeting the minimum entry requirements therefore does not guarantee admission.
Closing Date
The Application processes for August entry for both local and international applicants will close on 9th August 2022.

How to apply for admission
Before Applying
Make sure the following documents are readily available:
Application fee receipt (pay a non-refundable Application Fee listed under Schedule of Fees, View Schedule of Fees which is payable into the UB bank accounts listed under Financial Procedures or UB Cash Office)
Certified copy of the Senior Secondary School Certificate or Statement of Results (School Leavers)
Certified copies of Transcript(s) and or Certificate(s) for those applyinf for Upper Levels, Transfers and Re-Admission
Certified copy of National Identity Card (Omang) / Passport (Omang for citizens)

Tracking your Application
Once you have applied and have received the acknowledgement letter, you may use the login details on such a letter to track the process of your application. To do that navigate to the login screen and login using the details given on the acknowledgement letter. Navigate by clicking Main Menu, then Student Admissions, then Self Service and Student Centre.
Making Changes
Applicants may make changes to their study choice anytime before the closing date for applications, but that has to be done through Undergraduate Admissions, Recruitment and Liason office.
